Can you tell me how well a male American Eskimo dogs will blend with a male mixed tabby/Simease cat? Both have been fixed. We are blending a family and will be blending a dog and cat.  Wondering what to expect.

Hello, you know your pets personalities the best.  So you know if they will get along with another animal or not.  What I can tell you is that to make the transition eaiser bring the pets into the home in seperate rooms.  If one pet already lives there put the existing pet in a room bring in the new pet and let them investigate and getintroduced to  the new smells slowly, then vice versa, put the new pet in a room and let the existing pet smell that a new animal has come in.  Now if it was two dogs I would suggest their first meeting outside in a park on neutral territory.  But, since one is a cat this won't work.  So start out with the suggestion above first, then open the doors when you think they are ready.  You be the judge get a since of their anxiety level.  You may have to keep them in seperate rooms for a week.  When they meet if you feel that the dog will be more aggressive then maybe you will have to keep the dog on a leash for the initial meeting.  Give the dog and cat reasurring words.  Unless the dog is animal aggressive in time the two will work it out.  But at no time allow either pet to be in danger.  Good Luck Cindy lou :)
