my dog had puppies several days ago and is having a blood tinged discharge from her vagina and it looks alittle swollen.  Is this normal and how long does this normally last? What am I to watch for if this isn't normal?

Blood discharge is normal, as for all mammals after giving birth...the only difference if it looks like it turns to green, or black, or thick like Tomato soup consistency, then, you will need an antibiotic immediately so to not lose her or the pups!
You will need to take her to the Vet, and with her puppies.... keep them warm!
