Basset Hounds

Question
My wife is wanting a Basset Hound for a family pet. It would be an 'inside' dog for the most part. Are these good trainable inside dogs ?

I am not sure about the Basset Hound breed.  I've never owned one myself.  I've owned a mix and he was so hyper and "hunt" driven that I eventually had to adopt him to a new home.  He was killing neighbors cats.  :(  I've had a friend that had a full breed Basset Hound and for two years he could never get it to potty train.  However, not all animals are alike and doesn't mean the one you might get would have problems.  Just research the breed very well before you purchase on.  Also, whatever breeder you are going to, ask about their dogs.  Their personalities and etc.  This does make a difference.  I sure wish you the very best and good luck.
