Question
I bought a golden retriever. He was smelly and looked like he was in a pretty bad place. He is four months old and only has had his first set of shots at 6 weeks. He threw up, clear phylum them pooped with blood in it. What did I get myself into? He was from a breeder and I was given alabm,(Spelling is off I am sure) it was in a little clear bag, was told to hive him 1/2 a tablet a day to help diarrhea...going to the vet in two days, soonest I could get him in...any idea what is going on here. Afraid of PARVO..is this PARVO? He is eating and plays fine. Help.

Answer
I guess I am also wondering, "what were you thinking?!"

No, this is most likely not parvo; he would also be doing some major vomiting with that, and hardly feeling like playing and eating. Parvo generally kills in a few short hours.

Albon is usually used to treat coccidiosis. And I think I could safely assume that your guy also has worms. Be sure you take a stool specimen in for examination when you take him in to the vet.

Personally, I think you should return this dog and get your money back. You bought a dog with very little medical care (who will undoubtedly need more) and who probably received no socialization either.
