Shi-tzus losing clumps of hair daily

Oreo My Dog My Shi-tzu, who is five years old, has been shedding big clumps of hair constantly. I was wondering if there was a serious problem here and if so what is it?

I think your Shih Tzu has a skin problem. I have had our Shih Tzu for 10 years and we have never found one piece of hair around the house. I would have it's skin checked by the vet. There might be something lacking in it's diet that is causing the shedding. Our Shih Tzu wasn't registered either, so that doesn't mean it's not full blooded. Just extra loved and not used for breeding. Shih Tzu's should have long flowing coats, but it should not be thin and falling out and he might have mange but in that picture he doesnt look like a shih-tzu
