pack barking

Question
We have a 5 year old sheltie and recently, about 2months ago have added a Newf now 4 months old to the family.  The only problem we have had is that when the newf wants to play she goes to the sheltie and barks, and barks and when we stop the barking she goes back again to play and barks.  Other than this, the dogs get along fine.  The sheltie tries to stand over the newf puppy but the newf pretty much just she sits on her, which of course gets things started again and the barking.  Any suggestions?

You are going to have to get used to Barking with two different dogs!
That is what they do to communicate.
If you are in a restricted area;
Then, you may want to re consider what your options are to have both!
You cannot ask them not to play with each other...that is just normal healthy behavior.
If they were just sitting at a gate and constantly barking at people passing by, different problem.
But, yours is very natural and just what dogs do!
