Answer
Hi Ryan,
There are a lot of puppy foods out on the market.  First find out what the breeder is feeding and get a bag of that from him so you can mix it with what I am telling you.  For the first 7 months feed him Eukanuba puppy food.  You can start with the MASH, if you can find it.  If not then start with the puppy food.  You might have to soften it and add a little something to it, but it is the best food to keep a puppy from chewing your house down.  It has an ash content that does that.  After he is 7 months you can mix in anyone of the following.  Pro plan SALMON FOR SKIN.  Staffies can have skin problems.  Or Bill Jack, or 4 Health...The best thing to do is look at the contents.  You want to see meat as the first couple of ingredients.  Sometimes it says Salmon, salmon by products.  You want to keep away from corn.  The Salmon food has rice with it.   Or look for lamb and rice, chicken and rice, or beef and rice.  Turkey and Barley is good.   You can have some wheat, but it should be further down the line.
Lots of info, huh.  Remember the better the quality food, the more digestible it is which means that they get more nourishment.  It doesn't hurt to give a Pet vitamin/MINERAL tablet either.  Some dogs get mineral shortages which are very hard to notice.
Hope this helps
