short cut for Yorkie

Question
I asked a question yesterday about instructions and/or a video that shows in detail how to clip a Yorkie in a short cut. The answer I received says that the expert had no experience with videos and wouldn't know where I could find something like that. She then asked for more details about my puppy.

She was 1 year old on July 2nd (my birthday too!)She's about 8-9 lbs, about 10-12" tall and about 18" long. She is typical Yorkie color and has very fine hair although it's not silky, it's rather dry and always has been.
A traditional long cut is just not possible in my family. I have 2 other dogs and a cat to care for and groom and I also have 3 jobs so time is an issue. I thought a short cut would be best but don't know where to start.
I do have experience in clipping poodles and bichons(poodle clip). I've clipped poodles for over 30 years and I have clipping supplies on hand.

Thanks for whatever you can give me.

Answer
To keep your Yorkie clipped short you would clip it the same as any other dog you've groomed.  It just depends on what length you want the dog to be.  You would use a 10 blade for the sanitary area and the ears.  On the body you could use any blade or a guide comb.  If you want to leave it longer than about 1/2 an inch you would need a 40 blade and a guide comb which come in many different lengths.  If you want your Yorkie to stay short and smooth you'd use a 5F or 7F blade.  Scissor around the feet and face.  Let me know if you would like further information.   I hope it works out for you.
