Eating problem

Question
My 15 year old spayed Bischon Frise refuses to eat her Science Diet Oral Care food since suffering a seizure a few weeks ago. She will eat hamburg, eggs, and dog treats when mixed with her food - but not the dog food. Should I change her food; just give her eggs, meat and treats; or will she eventually eat her dog food?
Thank you.

Answer
She needs the nutrition in the Science.  For now, I would continue to offer it to her along with a limited amount of the other stuff.  She may go back to eating it before long.  You could also try a little unsalted chicken or beef broth.  How does her body condition compare to http://www.longliveyourdog.com/twoplus/RateYourDog.aspx  If she is on the heavy side, she may eat better after she loses some weight.  You don't want a starvation diet.  Do whatever you have to to get something into her if she hasn't eaten for a few days, but limit it to where she is losing weight.  Stay in touch with the vet too.
