Question
I have a 6 month old Newfoundland and was curious what your feelings on feeding him one of the acana grain free kibbles, and if you approved of any of them which one? He currently on the eagle pack holistic select lamb rice because he has a sensitive stomach. In the past foods with chicken or duck gave him pudding poo. Also he has allergies to something, what we don't know. The vet believes it to be a food allergy, the eagle pack ingredients are lamb, rice, and oatmeal. The allergies were the reason for wanting to try a grain free. Thank you for your time.

Answer
May work but it has to be a large-breed puppy food, and it's higher in calories so feed less, you want to control growth.  Orijen makes a large puppy food, it has a different calcium and phosphorus ratio.  A raw diet would also be a great option for allergies, there's tons of info and research to do online in regards to a raw diet, as well as a couple Yahoo Groups where you can ask questions, all raw-feeders.  You may also want to give a probiotic/enzyme powder, this is the one I buy http://www.buzzillions.com/reviews/animal-essentials-plant-enzymes-probiotics-re...  Helps a lot with digestion and stops most diarrhea
