Question
I have a 7 month old male pug who we adopted when he was 8 weeks old. From day one he was always very hyper which I thought would pass when he got older. It hasn't and matter of fact has gotten worse. He will attack our legs very viciously numerous times a day and when we try to get him off of us, he will bite our hands and tear at our clothes. He will also attack his own tail very violently and won't stop for 10 minutes or so. When my kids try to pick him up to put him in his pen at night, he bites them to the point of drawing blood. The funny thing is, he can be so gentle and loving when he's tired and will cuddle with us. Could there be a mental issue going on with him?

Answer
Pugs are puppies for two years...sorry to say. But he sounds like he needs some obedience training. He has learned it is o.k. to do these things.

Talk to your vet about what is going on with him. If he is medically sound, then take him to a GOOD trainer to help you break these bad habits.

Thanks and good luck.
