Question
Hi,

I've got few questions about my 6 months old puppy, please help.

1. How many meals whould I feed her per day? 2 or 3?
2. Sometimes when we go to park for walk, she keep eating grass or stones or anything she can put in her month....Is that ok? or should I stop her doing that?

3. My girl is deep red color when I first borught her home, however, after 4 months, her hair faded significantly, kind of apricot color. What can I do to stop the fade? I like darker color. Anthing supplement she can eat to gain back the color?

4. Her nose have got the same problem as well. She was solid black color when younger and become brwon nose now. What can I do? Is this a sign of health problem? What can I do to make her nose black again?

Thank you very much for your help

I am more familiar with larger breeds that would do fine on one meal a day after 6 months.  The smaller breeds may do better on 2 meals.

I leave my puppies outside, unsupervised in a fenced yard.  I know they eat bunches of that stuff, and it never seems to hurt.  It would be safer to tell her leave it and if she is on leash, give her a leash correction.

Good chows don't need supplements.  I don't buy into the marketing hype for the premium chows.  None of the  large, successful, professionally managed programs I am familiar with, feed either of the Innova chows, or any other premium brand.  They don't use supplements either.  This is a direct quote from the manual for those raising puppies for a large dog guide school, ''Stay away from premium foods and special diets like lamb and rice or turkey and barley.''  I am not sure why they warn us away from the premium chows.  Avoiding lamb and turkey is meant to make it easier to work around allergies if they develop later in life.  They are very successful feeding Pro Plan chicken and rice.  Other, similar programs have good results feeding other common brands.  While different programs feed different chows, they are all very successful feeding a common brand, such as Iams, science Diet, etc., and sticking to one protein source.  Not only is it not necessary to feed a premium brand, it is possible dogs do better on the common brands.  The percent protein doesn't mean much, because some chows use a protein not as close to the optimum for dogs.  The excess, unneeded amino acids are burned off as energy.

You might get back with the breeder and see what they say.

I am not sure I have seen a Poodle with other than a black nose.  Some yellow Labs lose color in their nose with age and lack of sunlight.  I would get her on a common brand of chow, and see to it she gets lots of sunlight.

You didn't ask how much to feed her.  Many people over feed their dog leading to a shorter life.  Your dog definitely should be narrower at the waist than the hips and chest. You should be able to easily feel the ribs, but not see them. Each dog is different. Standard recommendations are a good place to start, but each dog must have its food and exercise adjusted to its individual needs.
