Answer
Hello Jeannie,
There is alot of things to consider before deciding if your dog should have puppies or not.  The first thing to consider is if she is a good canidate to have puppies.  Some of the things you listed wouldn't necessarily be passed on to the puppies, such as the high energy or the crying alot.  That comes from her enviroment more than her breeding.  If you found a calm male, that could help with the energy and training and better socalization helps with the crying.  You would also need to take her conformation into account.  Is she the correct size, does she have the correct bone structure, hair coat, etc that you would want to pass on to pupppies.  Does she have any Health issues that could be passed to puppies.  This is a big issue not only with the female, but also with the male.  If you breed 2 dogs that have the same health issues, the puppies will most definately have those same problems.

A Toy Poodle could have from 1-4 puppies.  Would you have buyers for those puppies, or would you be willing to keep them if you didn't.  If you answered NO to either of these questions, then you would just be adding unwanted puppies to a country already overcrowded with unwanted puppies that HAVE to go somewhere.  Go to your local Pet Shelter and see how many puppies are there and in need of good homes, that if they don't find them will be put to sleep.

Do you know what you are doing when breeding two dogs together, do you research the background of your female and male to know whats behind them?  You need to make sure these two dogs are compatible for breeding and are healthy enough for breeding.  You also should know that Male dogs shouldn't be bred until around 1 yr of age and females need to wait until they are 2 yrs old and mature enough to carry puppies to full term.  You would need to wait at least another year and a half to breed your girl.
The next question is have you gone through having a litter before.  It is a very messy job of dealing with a female having puppies, and then you have to care for those puppies for about 8 weeks after they are born.  This includes cleaning up after them, giving them shots and wormings, placing ads in the paper for them, feeding them (which isn't cheap) and dealing with selling them when the time comes.

Now after all that, do YOU think you would still want her to have puppies.
Sometimes a Vet or other "animal professional" will tell people that its advisable for a female to have at least one litter of puppies in her lifetime.  This is very Untrue.  Females will be just fine if they never have a litter, and breeding them just so they can have that one litter can be harmful to her, and problematic for the puppies.

I suggest that you go and get your female Spayed and just make her a happy Pet.  If you want another puppy, go out and buy one that is already here and needing a good home.  You will help an unwanted dog, and your female will not have to deal with having a litter she doesn't need.

I hope this has helped you some.  If you DO decide later that you want her to have a litter, please feel free to ask any questions about it that you have and I will be happy to help you then.
