Typical gestation for a dog is 63 days.  No you dont want the male there while your female is trying to birth.  She wont want anyone else around.  Breeding dogs is not like humans they do not need the male in the waiting room while giving birth.
Please before even concidering breeding do a lot of research on breeding to find out if it is really something you want to do and can do.  It is a lot of hard work and sometimes heartbreak.  If you have already bred you female, please research the birthing process before the time arrives so that you know what to do.  For the safety of your dog and your own piece of mind.
