Types of Labrador Retrievers

Is there 3 types of lab's ? I was told that there is the American Lab, the English Lab and now I'm told that is also the European Lab. Is this true ?

Any isolated populations tend to differentiate.  And it is more complicated than that.  You also have the show Labs and field Labs.  And of course, many of them really wouldn't make the good gun dogs Labs were originally bred for.  Any breeder or group of breeders is free to breed for whatever characteristics they want.
