Do you know anything about how to socialize a 1 yr old labrador retriver? its a female, and she weighs about 65 lbs. She is VERY territorial, mainly to puppies, anyone that isnt a member of the family (aunts, uncles, my friends, etc) that isnt there on a daily basis, she barks and growls at (but dosent bite). is there anything i can do to help/prevent this behavior?

and also. My dog will play fetch until she dies (literally). She has thrown up a few times from being overworked and drinking alot. (i wasnt home, and my dad had a neice over and was showing her how my dog fetches) she goes through at least 4 balls a week (whether tennis, squeaky, or otherwise) is there a type of ball that is more durable? does it hurt her to catch tennis balls in her nmouth? and any other information will be accepted. thanks

Hello, I do not know about teh first question but for playing fetch there are some dogs like my jack russell terier who will cahse the frisbees or balls until he drops and some like my lab who will catch a few and bring them back and then go lay down. Just know when to stop...after 15 to 20 minutes or stright throw and fetch stop and give her a few minutes to rest and drink. THere are rubber balls that bounce quite well and are durible even my jack russell has a hard time getting his teeth into these balls, you can get "fake" brand ones form locle stores and markets andmore durible nyla bone ones from pet stores. I throw the balls into the air for my lab to cath she doesnt mind it but I cant speak for her if it hurts her mouth or not....if it hits her front teeth or lips I'd say it would hurt a bit but not enoguh to stop the dogs from playing, enjoy your Labrador Retreiver they are awsome.
