Scared to Swim

Question
My lab (5 years old) is scared to swim ever since he fell into the pool as a puppy.  
Anything we can do to make him more comfortable in the water?  At this point,
all he'll do is get in to cool off and then gets out as fast as he can.

Hi Alex,

This should not happen. Labs are water dogs and simply LOVE water. There is no reason why she should fear water. Doesnt matter if she fell in as a pup.

Are you sure she 'Fears' water. Does she drink water? Is she ok if you bathe her? Has she been vaccinated well? Are all diseases covered?

Some labs are not as water loving as others. So there's a possibility he might not be enjoying the water temperature or its hardness. Dont push him to come for a swim - if he wants to - he'll come on his own.
