Lab puppy does not drink water

20 9:41:28

Question
I have a 4 month female lab pup. Like anyother lab she is passionate about her food however she does not drink much water. As soon as we keep a bowl of fresh drinking water for she she sips for a sec and then she plays with it and turns the bowl upside down.

I am pretty much concerned with this behavior. Now what I do is I add a drop of mil into that bowl. She is pretty much drinks this like it is some kind of food. I dont wish to continue this as I do not know the quantity of water she should be drinking at this age. She urinates frequently due to intake of water.

Please advise.

Thanks in advance for your help.

Answer
Hello, Don't give her milk dogs are lactose-intolerant pop/coke/fizzy drinks and all sorts of jucies are also a no go. Try a different bowl people often don't think of this but some dogs just plain dont like drinking out of plastic or stainless steel bowls.... some don't like tall bowls try a Heavy Crock dish or a glass dish labs in genral drink alot. Wait now you say she drinks too little then you say she drinks too much adn pees to often? lol which is it? you should Not stop a dog from drinking water just to avoid letting her out often...what you can do thou is a few hours before bed time pick up her food and give her nomore food or treats so she does not want to drink this way she will last longer through the night without needing to pee...weathers I've noticed leaving the water down all night the puppy will drink and then ened to pee a few hours later....waking you up.
