new labs next door

Dear Sir:
We have two labs that have moved in next door.  We have met the new neighbor/owners but not the dogs.  How long will it take them to get accustomed to us so they'll stop barking every time I walk out of my garage while they are on the back deck?  Of course, they bark at every one, not just us, but it's really getting old. It used to be so quiet till they moved in.

That is a difficult question.  I am not sure dogs that bark eventually quit.  The best solution is not to leave them out if they bark.  I spend all day long letting my golden out, and bringing him back in as soon as somebody catches his eye and he barks.  

There are some things I have a good answer, and some things I don't. and maybe others don't either.
