Jack Russell Lost

Hi Carol! I am frantic! I took Jack for a ride today out in the country. I got him out of the car to walk and I must not have had his leash hooked correctly and he ran. He is about 7 miles out of town. My questions are...do they usually come home? and what can I expect if he comes back? Will he be angry? I just had him neutered last week and he has been acting temperamental for a couple of weeks...will the hormones calm down with time...he has never been aggressive before. I would appreciate your opinion and any advice to give. I did look for him for over 2 hours before finally giving up...and called the animal control in our county. Thanks....Jill

Hi Jill,
I'm so sorry that happened to you! You did everything you could do and I can only hope that he has a name tag and on.  Eventually he'll get hungry, seek out food and people and hopefully someone will report him as found. I'd go back to where you were and put up LOST DOG posters with his picture on it. Rewards always help. Call all the animal shelters in the area and let them know too.  
He was probably temperamental for other reasons and it's a good thing you had him neutered. No, he won't be angry, he'll be happy to see you. I hope you are both reunited soon! Best of luck.
