Question
we have a loverly great dane aged 11 months . she was a rescue dog.  she is brillient of and on the lead, and well behaved normally. when we go out we put her in the conservatory with are 2 other dogs who she gets on well with, a llhsa apso who is 10, and a cocker spaniel who is 3 and deaf. when we come back in she has normally chewed some tool or something, we have started  letting  her sleep upstairs with us and she doesnt make any mess at all . what can we do we have to go out.

Answer
This type of chewing can usually be linked to separation anxiety, or the fact that your Great Dane is going through puberty and go back through a chewing phase again.

What I would suggest is getting some toys and fill them with something, we use Kong and fill them with peanut butter and some of their dog food for her to be preoccupied with while you are out. Make sure that these are her special toys that only come out when you are leaving.

If this does not work, you may have to reintroduce the crate, so that she learns she gets put away if she begins chewing on something.

Hopefully this will work for you, if not, write us again and I can give you some more suggestions.
