Question
We have 2 male Danes age 13 mos. One in particular seems to poop in the kennel out of spite.  No matter if they have just gone out if left home alone he will dirty the kennel.  When home with us but in the house they will go hours upon hours with never ever an accident.  Even if he is put in the kennel short term he will pee or dirty.  It poses a huge mess by the time we get home, do you have any tips?

Answer
Chrissy,
From what you are describing it sounds like your puppy has a case of separation anxiety. Do you have the ability to either come back home during the day to let him out or have someone come to the house to let him out? Does he do this every time he is left alone or just randomly? Have you eliminated a bladder infection? How long has he been doing this? The only other suggestion I can give you is that you don't feed him before you leave for work, if that is the main source of the problem. You can also try some anti-anxiety medication from the vet. Or you can try a natural herb called Valarian Root, you can get it at any Walmart, Target ect. I hope this helps, and I apologize for the delay.
