hi I have a really nice dog!but he nips and jupes up on peaple what can I do?

Ok this is a common question. Try this. Whenever he nips at you, or someone, tell that person to firmly close his muzzle,(not squeeze hard!) and say "NO BITING". Be consistent, and patient. He wont learn if you let him go sometimes and punish him other times. As for the jumping, i have that problem still. Try this. Whenever you or someone meets him, give them a treat and tell them to ask your dog to sit. If he sits, they will treat him and pet him. If he doesnt do give him any attention.(including eye contact). He will eventually find out that if he doesnt sit, he will not get attention. Be patient and consistent for this one too. I still have this problem.
