Maltese + Golden Retriever

Hi - I have a golden retriever (1 yr old) that currently lives with a older short hair cat and my 3 year old daughter.  I am thinking of adding a maltese to the mix.  What do you think?

sorry about the delay in responding, I thought I answered this one.  I think you'd be just fine to add this mix together.  Just make sure you watch the adjustment.  There may be some tension, just let that go and watch.  But I think once status has been made, you will do just fine.
