Question
For the past few months, our young Golden has been losing huge tufts of hair in spite of brushing, and a diet of Iams Smart Puppy combined with fresh veggies which he seems to love. He now looks strangely like he's molting, and underneath where the white fluffy hair was is turning
darkish brown in spots. During the heat of Florida summer we had him trimmed but very very moderately (not shaved or even close to it). Could this have affected the hair growth
? It's also looking really dry and course compared to what it was. Thank you for any help.

Answer
I would cut out the veggies and switch him to the adult version of his puppy chow.  In general, little of the veggies are digestible, but what is may be just enough to throw off the careful balance of the Iams.  An early switch to the adult chow slows growth along more time to develop sturdy joints.

If he isn't looking better after a month without he veggies, see the vet.
