Question
I just bought a 7 month old golden retriever. he is fixed, but the old owners tend to give him bad habits. My boyfriend seems to have gained control but when he is at work. this dog starts with the biting my arm pulling my sleeve trying to bite my face and the groin area. this not what i seen this breed be like.. he is really hyper we take him for many walks and let him run around the yard. but when it comes down to letting him in the house he loses it he is great outside and when we got him there was not a problem to put him in his crate but i have to use his halti a leash and pull.. he seems to like to run at me and attack me even if i am just sitting on the chair what can i do for him to stop with me and really understand the word no. he sits on Command lays down on Command. but this aggressive behavior and the biting has to stop i need help.

Answer
Haha. There is nothing to worry about sherry. Its an easy solution. He really isn't being "bad". He just wants to play. But still, that hurts for us. So whenever he bites your hand, say in a firm commander way, "NO BITING" while holding his muzzle shut firmly. (don't squeeze!) careful not to shut his muzzle with his tongue in between. And when he jumps on you or anyone, simply hold his collar and pull him down to a sit postion and praise him when he is seated. (Be consistant! If he can do it sometimes, he can do it all the time!) As for him being hyper inside the house, he will calm down, be aware that he is just like a human kid ready to explore his new world. To keep him busy in the house, give him a bone. Those mammoth bones are delicious for dogs. They take hours to finish. Hope this helps.
