how to pick a puppy?

We are going to get a puppy for a friend and i was wondering if you could tell me a basic bone structure for golden retriever puppies so that i could pick a pure breed puppy and not a cross breed?

I can't, and I don't think anybody else can.  Pure bred Goldens vary too much in looks.  You just have to trust the breeder.  What you need to ask about is OFA ratings, how the puppy will be socialized and other care.  Many behavior problems stem from poor care by the breeder.
