looking for a peppy Pappion

I am looking for a small Pappion for my wife. I don't know much about them, but we have owned Pomerainans and a Border Collie. Where would you suggest I find an "affordable" (lets be clear no more than $300) pet. I have seen some of the web sites from "puppy farms" and don't want an animal that is going to have tempermental issues. If you have any suggestions, please let me know.

You are going to be hard pressed to find a quality (healthy with good breeding) purebred dog from an upstanding breeder for less that $500.  You may want to try a rescue or the humane society.  Keep in mind that a reputable breeder will make sure the pups are healthy, socialized and make concious decisions at pairing two dogs that will best represent the prospective breed standard.
