You can learn about poms on the internet.  Also, you can go to the library and get books on pomeranians.  It's important to do a little research on any breeds you may be
interested in if you want to get a dog that is healthy, typey, and has a sound temperment.  Whatever type of breed you decide on it's extremely important that find a reputable show breeder.  You can find a good breeder by
attending local dog shows, dog magazines, or the internet.  Knowing what a dog is suppose to look and act like will help you recognize the good breeders, the not so good breeders, and the downright horrible breeders.
Never by a puppy from a pet store.  Also, the newpaper is filled with backyard breeders and puppy mills.  Once in a while will you find a good breeder in the paper.

Poms are not recommended for young children under nine or rambunctious children.  They can be seriously hurt or even killed if a child were to fall on it, or drop something on it, or drop the dog while holding it.  Also, poms won't tolerate rough handling and will become snappy to
protect themselves.

Poms have to be brushed several times a week.  They can be difficult to housebreak.  It will be a lot easier if you have them neutered/spayed. Also you must be consistant and have a plan!  Poms are not outdoor dogs.  They are companions and want/need to be with you.  They
are not a good dog to get if you work long hours (over 8-9).

Poms are loyal, very intelligent, happy, beautiful, and get along well with other pets.  They are excellent companions.

Let me know if you have any other questions.

Best Regards,
Carrie
