Pomeranians tails

Question
Hi.
We have 2 (i believe not full breed) Poms. Girls. We rescued them from hurrican Katrina foster home at the age of 8 weeks. They are approaching 2 yrs. The larger one had a very plumy tail that curled over the back, the smaller (2/3 the size) had a very slight curl to the tail, thats why I'm sure they're mixed. My daughter (i not happy with her right now!) decided it was hot in florida and they needed a haircut, including cutting all the hair off both tails, leaving one with a "stick" with a slight bend, the other with a slightly curly stick. I've been told that the hair won't grow back, due to the breed. Correct? Or, because they're not full breeds, there's a chance? Thanks for your time.

Answer
Hi Jackie,
I'm glad to hear you saved these two LUCKY girls.  Katrina killed so many aniamls and displaced even more.  We are very involved with horses (we ride horses and we are a PBR bucking bull contractors for a living) so the impact that it had on the equine industry was certainly felt at our place in GA.  Everyone was involved with trying to get hay and feed to dry ground where these animals could be held until proper placement or the owners could be found.  Anyway - rest easy the hair will grow back.  If you've ever known anyone who has taken any type of dog in for any surgery  - they are shaved bare and the hair always grows back.  I think someone was trying to mess with you!!  Your girls we be beautiful again in no time.

Take care of your poms
Brandie
