Hair falling out in clumps

Question
We have a 10 year old male Chihuahua.  The hair on his back is falling out in clumps and his skin is dry and scaly like dandruff.  It is also in other areas of his back.  He doesn't seem to be bothered by it as he is not itching the areas or seem distressed.  His coat when you pet him feels waxy.  The dog shampoo I have been using on him didn't seem to be a problem.  He seems to be his healthy self but is a very picky eater eating only beef moist dog food and for treats chicken jerky strips and dog biscuits.  He has had this for some time but only in a wee area.  I picked it off thinking it was a sore and gave him a bath and he seemed to be good for some time, now it is back again only more.

Can you help me make him better, thanks very  much.

Answer
Hi Vickie-  I wonder if you boy has the mange???  I would have a vet check this out for you.... The hair falling out in clumps is a sign of mange.
Please let me know what the vet say...

thanks,
And BEST wishes
