Vomiting Chihuahua

Question
Last night, my father gave my 1.5 year old Chihuahua (5 lbs) some fat from a
roast (fully cooked).  He knows he isn't supposed to, but he's never been
good at following directions.  She woke up vomiting at 4 am this morning...a
LOT of vomiting.  This has happened before, and I just isolated her from food,
gave her water, and let her stay in her playpen (to isolate any more vomiting
from being all over the room).  I allowed her to have food and water today
because she was perky and happy.  I did see her eat a few treats, but I didn't
notice if she ate much food.  She did drink a lot of water, which I figured was
from the dehydration of vomiting.  A while ago (its midnight), I found where
she had vomited not too long ago- I must have been out of the room.  It was
cold, but  not dry, so I knew it wasn't from THAT long ago (like this morning).
She is still chipper and perky, running around and playing.  Her eyes are
bright and inquisitive.  Nothing looks wrong about her, except that she's
vomited a lot lately.  I don't want to take her to the vet if they're going to say
"give her some crackers and water for a while and let her rest", but if it could
be serious, I will.  Any ideas on what I should do?

Answer
Ashley - your Dad may have cause your baby to have problems with the Pancreas.  She can die if she vomits too many times in a 24 hour period of time.  She may need to see the VET for I.V. Fluids.
Sorry, You may want to take her in.
Tell your Dad she can't digest fats like the stuff he fed her.  It can kill this little one.

Good Luck
