Long Coat Chihuahua Skin Condition

I have two Chihuahuas, one is a smooth coat 5 year old spayed female and the other is a long coat, 5 year old spayed female. They both get fed Royal Canine  Chihuahua kibble and the smooth coated girl does fine on it. My long coated girl scratches constantly and has snoflakes of skin in her coat. She is black so it is very noticable. They both get coat conditioners that contain omega 3 fatty acids. They get 1/4 cup of food twice a day and the smooth coated girl stays good at 4 lbs. Vet says that is a perfect weight for her. The long coated girl goes between 8 - 10 lbs. The Vet says she should stay closer to 8 lbs. My biggest concern is for my long coated girl, what should I do to help relieve her itching and flaking skin?

Dianna, poor kid!  I understand your concern on this .... YOUR kid needs to get off the Royal canine because it has too many fillers - Your chi must be allergic to the corns and wheats in this brand...

Here are my suggestions for your long coat kid.

First off: Please get a grain free formula - Innova EVO or Wellness Core are 99% grain free.  YOU can find them at most pet stores.

Next, Please start your long coat on some Probiotics:
