Chi dies hours after spay

Question

Chloe I recently lost my little girl chi after her spay. She was 6 months old and no health concerns. Doctor said her surgery went great. Brought her home and about 11 hours after her surgery she had a seizure. She was a little disoriented after but was still stable. We took her to the emergency center where they couldn't find anything wrong with her. Then she had another seizure. This time she became unresponsive. Her heart was beating but she wasn't breathing on her own. Her lungs filled with fluid. Hours later they got the fluid out but she still wouldn't breath on her own. We finally had to make a decision to take her off the respirator. At the end, they still couldn't tell us anything wrong with her. How could such a simple spay procedure have triggered seizure, loss of lung function and death?

Oh Crystal....I am so sorry for the loss of your beautiful little Chloe. This does happen but very rarely. I wonder if she had a blood clot during the surgery. That can trigger what happened to her. Many times a blood clot complication is a freak incident.
