Eye problem with Chihuahua?

QUESTION: Nugget is a blond four pound Chihuahua, less then a year old, that suddenly can't jump down to the floor from a chair, and his attempt to jump up, takes at least four to five tries. It is like he has developed a depth perception problem. I was wondering if this is something that is common to the breed, or is this something that I should be concerned with. He runs and plays fine, with the exception of what I explained above.

ANSWER: Hi Nancy - Are you sure it is Nugget's eyes?  I was thinking more on the lines of his knees ( patella).  The luxating patella or " trick " knee will present it's self like this.
Watch little Nugget again.  Look for him picking up the back legs and almost like a little dance????

Let me know if you still think it is a depth perception or a knee problem.
We can start the little one  on some supplements to help. Just wondering what is going on.
Also, you may want to see a vet for an opinion.  If they say surgery. ALWAYS get a second opinion.
(too many just want to jump the gun and cut right away)
