Chihuahua in heat

My 7month old Chihuahua went into heat before he appt. to be spayed she has been in heat 5 days. Can our 6 month old male Sheltie get her pregnant? he is scheduled to be neutered next month

I'm not a breeder, nor do I breed dogs. However, you've got a female dog in heat and a male dog that isn't neutered and that's a combination that you want to avoid. I would keep them completely separate and call your vet if you have any further questions.
