Swollen Neck

My chi's neck swelled about 2 weeks ago, I was not home a the time.  She was fine when I went to work, but when I got home it was very swollen and hurt her to move. I have had all kinds of tests done and am still getting tests done.  When the swelling goes down, she is like her old self.  What types of tests should I be having done?  Are they prone to this type of thing or slipped disks.  I just want my little one back to normal.

What did your vet diagnose her with?  
What meds did your vet give you?
How old is your little Chi?

Let me know...I many have some supplements and oil that we can try.
