ANSWER: Oh, I am so sorry.  Many vets will take payments.  Call around and tell them this is an emergancy.
Or , just walk in with her in your arms and beg for service.

Good luck

So very sorry!

QUESTION: thanks for your advise, but too late now all the vets that I called said it would cost me around 800.00 to 1500.00 for surgery and then I waited til morning, called the humane society and they sent me to a place where I walked in and the vet said shes dying and she will die if I dont do surgery now but you will have to give her up for adoption after, I started crying I was between the knife nd the wall with my dog in my arms looking at me, I had to turn her in or she would die, I went home crying with my heart broken, my daughter hasnt gone to school for the past 3 days, the cookie was her name and she had slept with her for the past 2 years, the house looks lonely nobody waits for me when I come home now, I call every day to see hows shes doing and they say shes ok. I asked if I would volunteer weekends just to see her while she gets adopted, This is wrong you know, just because I couldnt pay all that money gives them the right to take her away from me, her mommy for the last 2 yrs. she had been abused by kids when we got her at first, with us she found the love and caring she needed, anyways thank you for listening, while I cry, remembering my baby.

Answer
Oh, I have heard this before...
Yes, they ask you to give up your rights to the pet.  I guess they feel you should not have a pet if you can't pay for the surgery.
I don't agree with this but it is the policy of many rescues.

See what if would cost to adopt her?  Would it be the surgery bill and adoption fee?

I don't know what else to tell you.  I am so very sorry for your family.
