Question
Well my question is a little different than the one about the dog grinding its teeth, but i have a 3 year old boxer and i noticed a long time ago that his teeth are really small and have big gaps between them and his k9's arent very long or come to a fine point like most dogs. I was never quite sure what to think of it, hes a very handsome boxer he gets alot of compliments from people saying "hes alot better looking than most boxers I've ever seen, but whats wrong with his teeth?" I'd really appreciate it if you could help me with that. thank you.

Answer
Hi,

Not something to be overly concerned about.  Because man adjusted the Boxer to have a squashed face and therefore shorter jaw, they often have teeth that are slightly wonky.

It wouldn't hurt to take him to the vet (or have the vet look at them on your next appt) as Boxers do tend towards a gum disease that causes the gums to overgrow the teeth.  This doesn't sound like your case.  :)

As long as his breath is good and his gums look a healthy color, tooth/gum disease is a very minor possibility.  :)

All of my Boxers look like jack-o-lanterns ;)
