Question
Our cat (Frankie)stares at my wife for a long time in the evening when we're sitting in the living room watching t.v.  She calls Frankie over but she just sits there staring.  And there's like 3 different spots she sits and stares.  Its getting a little creepy.

Answer
Julie,

If the cat is an old cat she may be blind, or going blind. Sometimes you can't tell if a cat has a problem with his eyesight because they seem to act normal in most ways. I would think about having a vet do a checkup on the cat.

It is not a typical cat behavior. Sometimes a only a cat knows why she does the things that she does. It just may be a quirk of your cat's personality. If she is not being aggressive or hissing I wouldn't worry too much.

Get a pet laser light (from Petco, PetSmart, etc.) and distract her when she starts staring. It will also tell you if she can follow the light.
