bengal cat - change in voice!

Hiya

Our bengal cat has a very distinctive miaow which has suddenly changed over the last two days. Having never kept cats before, I wondered whether it was normal for cats to get sore throats and a bit horse or whether I should be worried?!

Is your Bengal male or female?  If female, is she spayed?  If not, she may be coming into season.  If she is coming into season, now might be a good time to get her spayed!

If cats have an upper respiratory problem, they usually have other symptoms besides hoarseness.  There may be some catarrh (green snot), sneezing, coughing and the like.  The cat may tend to mope around and/or not eat normally.  If you are uncertain, you will probably want to visit your vet.
