QuestionHi,
My new kittens are just over one week old. The problem is that their nails are very sharp and they are scratching each others noses while fighting for a nipple (drawing blood).
My question is: How soon can I look at trimming their teeny weeny nails?
Thanks in advance for any reply.
AnswerLorie,
Using a human type of nail clipper, you may just want to take the tips off the front claws. Personally, I would wait until they are a little older. If you make a mistake and draw blood, you may have trouble getting them to allow you to clip their nails in the future. I would say that by 3 weeks of age, you should have a better shot at clipping their claws.
As for their noses, they will heal!!
Best regards... Norm.
