Bare spots on Ragdolls

I have a male and female Ragdoll.  The male cat has a bare spot on his front-left leg. I keep checking on him and it keeps on getting worse.  He has lost weight and hair rapidly.  I do not know what is happening.  Please tell me ASAP.

I cannot possibly begin to know what his problem actually is.  It could be anything from being hormonal to a serious problem.  I would see a vet immediately.  Also double check the fda web site:

http://www.fda.gov/oc/opacom/hottopics/petfood.html

to see if you had been feeding him any of the recalled food.
