Cat waking me up

Hi there, I have an 8 month old male fixed orange tabby.  Basically about 3 weeks ago he started scratching on my husband's side of the bed, under it, around it and its driving us nuts.  We have used 2 sided tape, I stuffed boxes under our bed, and tried sprays.  We are at our wits end for lack of sleep and he just yowls when we lock him in a separate room.  What do I do??? Thanks!!

Is the cat neutered?  If not, this might be some of the problem.  He is at the right age to be reaching puberty, and breeding season is in full swing.

There is usually not much you can do when this kind of behavior starts, unless you can eliminate the root cause.  The only behavior modification technique I know of is clicker training.

If he needs to be neutered it may take a couple of weeks for the male hormones to dissipate out of his system.
