Kittens-Sticky Eyes

Question
Our kittens are 11 days old and have been beginning to open their eyes. All four seem to have sticky eyes...where one or both eyes are kinda glued again and get a little crusty in the corner.  Is this normal or should we have a vet check this out?  If normal...should we dab them with a moist cottonball are just leave them alone...any advice or directive is very much appreciated!!!  Thank you very much!~

Answer
Hi Cyndi, this is not unusual but it can cause a lot of problems. You can work on the eyes yourself to keep them clean but if they are left sealed with that bacteria growth under them it can affect the kittens' vision. I would recommend you get an eye ointment from the vet and clear it up asap. Teresa
