I adopted a cat who was feral. Is is almost  4 years old   About two weeks ago he
sarted to s;ose weight and I believe he has lost at least 3 pouns in the last 3
weeks.   I took him to the vet and they did Xrays and blood work and they can
find nothing wrong with him.  But he is clearly not doing well, is it cancer,
nerolorgical, something else?  It is his back left lef that bothers him the most,
but it seems like his entire back end has caved it.  

Answer
Take him back to the vet and ask them if they think that a regimen of Prednisone would help. See if they will give him an injection there at the office, followed by an oral pill you would give him twice daily for ten days.

Prednisone is a steroid that may help him regain his muscle function and get a healthier appetite.

If your vet doesn't think that will help him, I recommend finding a vet that will get you an answer and a solution, not one who just lets your pet suffer.
