litterbox problems

Question
I have 3 cats and 1 dog. My cats have always used the litterbox with no
problems. My dog is pee pad trained. Recently my youngest cat has started
using the pee pads to urinate and defecate on. At first this was no problem
(she' a spayed girl and her urine is not strong like a males). Now she will
urinate and defecate on the carpet at the same spots the dog has had
accidents. The litterbox is religiously cleaned and i have not used any new
products. What can i do to make her stop? I've never had a cat not use the
box.

Answer
Audrey,

Your cat is being a 'copy-cat'.

You need to clean any area the dog or cat has messed on really good. Never use bleaches or disinfectants. They smell like urine to a cat, so does anything pine, rose or lemon scented.

I am including a 2 links to websites that have a lot of articles on litterbox problems and tips for cleaning.
Copy and paste, or type, the whole link in your address bar:

I hope these help.
