Wild salmon treats and urinary problem

Hi,

Our male cat had urinary blockage and was put on a special diet. For treats he was allowed something called "Greenies."

A friend suggested we try freeze-dried wild salmon treats (because cats love them; he didn't know about the health aspect).

Our cat is crazy about the wild salmon treats, but we don't know whether they're bad for him.

What do you think?

Are these freeze dried treats made especially for cats? If so, I would say that most likely they are fine. However, I have a cat who has had issues with urine/defecation and diet is imporatant to control the problem. So while for a healthy cat, the salmon treats are fine, I would run them past your vet for your specific cat's needs with his condition. That is the only way to be safe on this or any other diet change.
