Cat losing hair around neck area

Hi,

I have a three year old cat, and I noticed that he lost his hair in his neck about 1/2 way around, when I say lost it I mean he has no hair in that area at all, and the skin where he lost the hair is pink and clean. He does not seem to scratch there and seems normal, he also eats ok. So I am not sure what this coud be...

wow, at first i was thinking allergies or mange..but both allergies and mange leave scabs and you would see the cat scratching. i really have no idea about this. you should call the vet and ask them, they will probably tell you to bring the cat in. the vet needs to look at the skin to see whats going on. sorry i couldnt be of more help.
