QuestionWhat can I feed a kidney failing 16 yr old cat that is doing quite well and showing no symptoms other than blood work shows her kidneys are failing? I'd like to not have to buy the Science Diet k/d as it is sooo expensive, but I want Neube to have the nourishment she needs. I'm giving her 1/4 t. potassium/day plus 250 mg glucosamine with MSM. Any suggestions?
AnswerHi Ginger,
Sorry, but that is what my vet recommended also.... There just is no other food that will do. I know it's expensive but it is necessary. I would only give her the 1/4 t. potassium if the doctor recommends it. The glucosamine should be ok, but ask the vet anyway..... Good luck.... kidney failure is no fun for either of you. Hugs, Barb
